With safety in mind, the FASTBRACES® system was developed to move teeth in a different way, making it a fast, safe and affordable solution. The FASTBRACES® system uses a unique triangular-shaped orthodontic hook (brace) that allows the use of a single orthodontic wire during treatment. In other words, the braces used in the FASTBRACES® system work in a completely different mechanical pattern all together. Historically, braces move the tooth tip in the first year, and the tooth root in the second year, which means at least two years of orthodontic treatment, using a series of orthodontic wires and procedures to activate tooth movement.

The braces in the FASTBRACES® system are specially designed to move the root and the tip of the teeth at the same time from the beginning of the treatment. Patients can now get results ,usually with less sensitivity ,in about a year and in some cases only a few months. To understand how the teeth move with the FASTBRACES® system we must first understand why the teeth are crooked. Teeth are crooked because they come into the mouth tilted , sideways and not upright. This means that the root of a crooked tooth is not in a straight (upright) position as it should be. The triangular braces used in the FASTBRACES® system have the ability to bring the root of the tooth into an upright (straight) position from the beginning of the treatment. If the tooth root is brought into an upright position, the tooth becomes straight. In order for this to happen, a square wire large enough to be placed in the groove of the orthodontic hooks needs to be inserted so that it causes a torque and brings the root into an upright position. Traditional braces are usually square in shape and do not provide enough space between them (Figure 1). If square braces are replaced with triangular braces, the distance between the orthodontic hooks is doubled (figure 2). By doubling the distance, the flexibility of the square wire is increased eightfold (2*3=8). Therefore, with the FASTBRACES® system we are able to place a square wire between the orthodontic hooks easily and comfortably in order to bring the tooth root into an upright position from the beginning of the treatment.
